We ensure that colleague safety is a priority through ongoing awareness and training programs, which are conducted in all of our facilities. These efforts have resulted in some of the lowest injury rates in our industries.
Of the 15 million workplaces in the U.S., only 1,700 have earned recognition as Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) sites. To understand the significance of this award, only 0.01%, or 1 in nearly 9,000, of workplaces qualify for OSHA’s VPP program.
Energizer has five facilities recognized in the VPP-STAR program:

Additionally, the U.S. Household Products Division, which manufactures and markets Energizer® and Eveready® brand products, had an injury rate in 2006 of 1.13, almost seven times better than the “primary battery manufacturing” industry rate of 7.70.
The Personal Care Division, which manufactures and markets Schick®, Playtex®, Banana Boat®, and Wet Ones® brands had a global injury rate in 2007 of 1.45, and 1.28 in fiscal year 2008. Furthermore, Milford,CT received the OSHA Region I Silver award in 2006 for achieving an injury rate 80 % below industry average.
