During our history,Energizer has taken many proactive steps to minimize the impact of our products and manufacturing processes on the environment.

Energizer Household Products Division Milestones

We have demonstrated our commitment to sustainability by making product enhancements and promoting safe battery disposal. Including the following:

First in the industry to remove heavy metals, including mercury, from household batteries
Among the first members of the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation, a voluntary, industry-funded organization that collects and recycles
used rechargeable batteries
Phased out the sale of nickel cadmium (NiCd) batteries in 1999
Improved production processes over the years to boost efficiency and cut energy usage
Developed and adopted a number of practices that have been used as models for federal regulation
