Weather Safety - Floods

Check your insurance coverage. For the National Flood Insurance Program, call: 1-888-CALL-FLOOD ext. 445, TDD# 1-800-427-5593.
Listen to a NOAA radio, broadcast radio or television for information
Move immediately to higher ground
If you must evacuate, secure your home, bring in outdoor furniture and move essential items to an upper floor
Turn off utilities if instructed to do so
Disconnect electrical appliances
Do not walk through moving water; you can fall or be swept away
Do not drive into flooded areas; you and the vehicle can be quickly swept away, if you encounter water covering the road, turn around and find an alternate route
